Is It a Bad Patch or Regression The 7–10–14 Day Rule
Dear friend,
It is 2 a.m. and you are standing in the hallway with your phone light turned low, scrolling back through your notes.
Yesterday was worse.
The day before was not great either.
And the question that has been sitting on your chest since lunchtime is the same one: "Is this a bad patch, or is this a slide?"
I know that hallway. With my son Muhammad, progress never moved in a straight line.
There were gains, there were plateaus, and there were stretches that looked like a step backwards. After about eight months on one approach we hit a plateau, and that plateau sent me looking for what was missing.
What I needed most in those nights was not another supplement. It was a number of days.
So that is what the TEA this week was about. How Autistic Symptoms Change Over Time, featuring the ASA Regression vs Crisis Map. A light recap of what we covered:
- What large studies show about how symptoms change over time, and how common regression is (and what those studies do not tell us).
- The day count: a crisis typically settles in about 7-10 days, days 10-14 are a grey zone, and beyond 14 days is regression.
- What to do inside each window, and the four-line daily log that makes it readable.
- The first action for each of the five pillars when it is regression.
- When to call your child's doctor first.
The replay is open for registrants for the next 48 hours, and then it goes public on YouTube.
If you watch it and still cannot tell which side of day 14 you are on, that is exactly what the Fast Track Clarity Call is for.
Dr. T looks at your child's picture with you and tells you what to do first. The call is USD $87. If you join ATS-FAST TRACK: Autism Brain Development Accelerator within 14 days, the fee is deducted, and if you are not ready you receive the ATS-MINICOURSE: Autism Brain Awakening System free.
We build maternal implementation support and kids' biology-based brain development protocols, deeply customised to the actual needs, and the call is where we work out what yours are.
Whatever day you are on right now, you are not the cause of this. You are the one holding the log. That is not a small thing.
Reply and tell me what day you are on and what changed in the 48 hours before. I read every one.
With love,
Dr. T
P.S. If you know a mother who is standing in that hallway tonight, forward her this email. A number of days can be the kindest thing you send.
